How do I avoid mixing pieces, sets, cartons and weights during import?

The short answer

Keep original values and units, then document any conversions. Item quantity, sets, package counts and weights are different fields. Freight chargeable weight is not the same as product net weight.

What to do next

  1. Example: 10 cartons with 12 pieces each means 10 packages and 120 pieces; keep both values.
  2. Confirm set contents and distinguish kilograms from pounds, and net from gross weight.
  3. Reconcile line totals and shipment totals without inventing measured weights.
